Hello, fellow adventurer!
I've been busy behind the scenes, not just preparing for the launch of The Indus Star and dreaming up the next book, but also breathing fresh life into the stories we’ve grown to love together.
This month, I’m thrilled to announce that in celebration of the upcoming release of book 3, The Indus Star, we're giving the Georgia Lee Adventure Series a brand-new look with some awesome book covers and a new website!
What do you think? Let me know your thoughts on these new designs!
Many of you have been telling me that you’d like to get hardcover copies of The Imperial Alchemist and The Golden Khan. I’m very happy to report that this is now in the pipeline and will be released at the same time as the launch of The Indus Star. But I’ll write to you with more information on this next month.
Launch Updates - The Indus Star
Some of you picked up the typo in my last email, announcing the launch of The Indus Star, book 3 of the Georgia Lee Adventure Series, in 2023 😬😬😬 I’m very sorry for the confusion - I must have travelled back in time with the book and forgot to come back to reality 😅😅😅 So, just to clear things up, here are some details about the launch below:
The Indus Star will be launched initially on my website on 11 June 2024 as a subscriber pre-release for my readers - this means special deals and access to the eBook even if you don’t read on Kindle.
After this, it will then be released to the wider audience on 20 June 2024: Amazon Kindle Unlimited, Audible, Spotify, and other retail stores including libraries.
This Month’s Adventures
This month, I took a leap into the heart of one of the planet's most ancient and awe-inspiring natural wonders - the Daintree Rainforest. At over 135 million years old, the Daintree is the oldest tropical rainforest on Earth. Located in Queensland, Australia, this vast expanse of wilderness is not just a rainforest; it's a living museum, teeming with biodiversity and echoes of a world long before human footprints. Walking through its dense underbrush, with towering trees that seem to touch the sky, it's easy to feel like you've stepped back in time. The air is thick with the sounds of life, from the distant calls of birds to the rustle of unseen creatures moving in the undergrowth. Checkout some of my encounters with the jungle’s residents here.
Australia is home to some of the most dangerous animals on Earth, including the most venomous snake, spider, jellyfish… Oh, and did I also mention Great White Sharks 🦈🦈😬 Not only did I discover that I couldn’t swim at the beaches because it was box jellyfish season, there were also crocodiles in the water too 😱 But we did have a very special encounter with a cassowary. The most direct relatives to the dinosaurs, there are now only 4000 of these ancient creatures left in the wild. After searching all day for one in the jungle, we gave up and stopped at an ice cream joint on the way home, only to find this male cassowary wandering in. He saw my husband and made a low threatening grumble before advancing towards him. Needless to say we all backed up and gave him some space 😬
Here’s a little clip explaining why the cassowary is the most dangerous bird in the world, but also a keystone species for the jungle:
Next month I’ll be revealing the cover and blurb for The Indus Star, so stay tuned!
